Perched high in the hazy Sierra Bernia mountains, wrapped in ancient olive groves and overlooking the postcard-pretty winemaking town of Xaló, lies our boutique country house hotel, Caserio del Mirador. Just an hour’s drive from Alicante airport and 90 minutes from Valencia, we do family holidays in Spain on a slow burn. Forget fussy hotel timings, staying with us means embracing time together, switching-off and zonking out, let us take care of everything else.

Your Home From Home
Staying at Caserio del Mirador feels like staying with old friends. As parents, we know how hard it is packing for a family holiday so we provide all the essentials at no extra cost. We have a variety of cots and bedding plus bouncy chairs, sterilisers, blenders, highchairs, changing mats, baby monitors, and nightlights, not to mention buggies and backpacks.
As well as a warm welcome, you’ll find fresh milk, children’s yoghurts, bananas, Weetabix, and other basics to kick-start your holiday. Each room has age-appropriate books, puzzles, and toys to keep little ones entertained. When the children are happy, you can unwind and enjoy your well earned break.
Free-Range Family Holidays
From splish-splashing in our heated pool, to helping themselves to our all-you-can-grab toy shed stacked high with ride-ons, balls, inflatables and more, little ones can roam freely amongst Caserio del Mirador’s 15-acre wilderness. Forget screen time; they’ll be too busy cuddling the bunnies, fetching eggs from the chickens, feeding our pigs Peppa and Daisy and riding Furia and Turrón, the Shetland ponies, or the real-life tractor that’s nestled in our playground.
Your first holiday abroad with a baby or toddler can feel like a big step into the unknown. Rest assured, we have over 20 years experience catering for families on holiday with the smallest babies through to the most active toddlers. There’s not much we haven’t seen.
We are prepared for any event, even inconsolable moments when a favourite toy has been mislaid. Not only do you have everything you need to feel at home, you will find an environment where new adventures happen every day and friendships naturally blossom. Fabulously fun kid’s teatimes are often a holiday highlight, with Sarah’s delicious home cooked spreads.

Holidays at Caserio del Mirador are a unique journey, a family adventure, with parent-pleasing downtime that keeps families coming back year after year. Enjoy cocktails and social dinners under the stars once the kids are in bed, all within range of the baby monitors provided.
Every week, visiting masseurs offer alfresco spa treatments under the warm Mediterranean breeze. Enjoy private wine tasting from local vineyards, pilates and yoga classes to the soundtrack of humming bees and crickets, and plenty of snoozable hidey-holes to get nose-deep into a book as the hills roll away from your toes. There’s an honesty bar by the pool so open the fridge, pop open a beer and relax, our home is all yours.

Whether it is an impromptu birthday party at kids’ tea, a longstanding occasion with extended family or simply a romantic anniversary, we love any excuse to get out the bunting and celebrate.
Sustainability Is at Our Core
Being green is at the heart of everything we do at Caserio del Mirador and we are totally off-grid, with 95% of our energy produced from solar panels within our estate. We have our own filtered water supply for guests to fill up water bottles, reducing the need for plastic bottles, while our food waste is used to feed our animals (ask for scraps after dinner!) and for composting. We also collect rainwater which keeps our plants happy and watered and we encourage recycling in each apartment with our dedicated bins.
