Our boutique hotel has five elegant suites and one standalone casita, ranging from one-to-two bedrooms. Equipped with a kitchenette, with a hob and fridge, alongside a welcome hamper with all those essentials for the first few days.

We know travelling with kids isn’t easy so we’ll happily provide the kit – from cots, bed guards and bouncers to books, sterilisers and blenders.

From a daily breakfast delivery basket that wafts through the warm Mediterranean breeze, with just-laid eggs from our hens, warm croissants and sun-ripened fruit to Sarah’s famous Sunday afternoon paella and hearty three-course dinners, not to mention our daily kids’ teas featuring local classics and tot-approved favourites, we source the best local ingredients for your family, freshly cooked in our outdoor kitchen.

Mingle with other guests over cocktails and dinner once the little ones hit the pillow or enjoy a private supper on your terrace under the inky, star-filled sky, the choice is all yours.

Only an hour’s drive from Alicante airport and 90 minutes from Valencia, Caserio del Mirador is located in the centre of a peninsula with coastline to the north, east and south.

From beach days on the secluded sands of El Portet beach to hiking on the breathtaking Sierra Bernia natural park and pedalling along the Val de Pop, there’s heaps to do on our doorstep.

Wander through the cobbled streets of our local town Xaló, stopping for lunch at one of the buzzy tavernas in the square or book a legendary vineyard tour at our neighbourhood winery Pepe Mendoza.

We moved to Spain in 2003, leaving behind our busy city lives in London. With two little girls and a baby on the way, we dreamed of starting afresh in a place where our children could grow up surrounded by nature and we could enjoy a slower, more connected way of life.

That dream became reality when we discovered the Jalón Valley. At the top of a winding track, wide terraces filled with lush grass and wildflowers stretched out before us, framed by mountains and breathtaking views of the coast. It felt like home. That’s where we created Caserío del Mirador, a boutique hotel where children can play freely while parents relax.
