3 Peaks Costa Blanca, 6th April 2024

Guided adventure hikes that conquer 3 iconic mountain peaks.  Trek along ancient trails through breathtaking scenery. Our peninsular is surrounded by 70km of dramatic coastline with views across to Ibiza. Spain is the second most mountainous country in Europe. Combine this with 300 sunny days a year and a stunning landscape – it’s the perfect recipe for an adventure.

The 3 Peaks are the Sierra Bernia 1,150m, the Sierra Ferrer 810m and the Montgo 750m.

The Bernia is a protected natural park with a biodiversity greater than that of whole of the Netherlands. The Sierra Bernia is the principal mountain.  The trail takes you through a cave, past a medieval fort and an ancient natural font. It is a 5 hour hike to the peak, the highest peak in the surrounding area.  The view spans from Alicante castle 70km to the south, to Ibiza out to sea and offers panoramic vistas of the whole Marina Alta peninsula.

The Sierra Ferrer is part of the Bernia Natural Park also, and directly behind the hotel.  It’s a 4 hour walk from your doorstep. The accent is up an inclined limestone pavement up to the ridge high above our neighbourhood. The traverse along the ridge takes an hour and you descend to Maserof, an ancient settlement famous for it mountain restaurants.  We recommend you have a head for heights for this one!

The Montgo separates Javea and Dénia towns.  From the hotel, it is the distinctive mountain towards the coast that’s shaped like an Elephant’s head. It’s trunk reaches out the Cap San Antonio lighthouse on the headland.  The views are again spectacular, Dénia with its busy port and castle, Javea with its open bay and fertile plains and Ibiza distinctly silhouetted out to sea.
